This perpetual trophy was first presented to the winner at the second year of the US Open in 1969. The 1968 winner’s name, Arthur Ashe, was inscribed at a later date. The reigning champion of 2023 is Novak Djokovic of Serbia, who defeated Russian Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3.
