1946-1955 United States Lawn Tennis Association U.S. National Championships Mixed Doubles Challenge Trophy

The resurgence of tennis in the years following World War II was led by Australian and American players, personified by the winning mixed doubles pairs of the U.S. National Championships. From 1946-1955, three different duos comprised of an Australian-American team won the title. Louise Brough (USA) and John Bromwich (AUS) won in 1947, followed by Margaret Osbourne duPont (USA) and Ken McGregor (AUS) in 1950, and Doris Hart (USA) and Frank Sedgman (AUS) in both 1951 and 1952. The trophy was retired in 1955 following three consecutive wins by Americans Doris Hart and Vic Seixas.
