1923-1935 United States Lawn Tennis Association U.S. National Championships Women’s Doubles Challenge Trophy

The 1920s-1930s is often recognized as the Golden Age of Tennis, with many international players dominating the majors as the sport experienced significant growth. The U.S. National Women’s Doubles Championships relocated from Philadelphia to Forest Hills, New York for a short stint. A new trophy accompanied the 1923 tournament, and was won by Brits Kitty McKane Godfree and Phyllis Howkins Covell. The trophy was retired in 1935, when Helen Hull Jacobs and Sarah Palfrey Cooke won their third title in four years.
