1904-1923 Surrey Championships Ladies’ Singles Challenge Trophy


The Surrey Lawn Tennis Championships began in 1904 and were held at the Berrylands Lawn Tennis Club (now known as the Surbiton Racket and Fitness Club) in Surbiton, England. This ornate challenge trophy is inscribed with the winners of this tournament from 1904-1923. Three Hall of Famers won this title: Charlotte Cooper Sterry (1907, 1913), Dorothea Douglass Lambert Chambers (1914, 1920), and Elizabeth Ryan (1919, 1921-1923) who retired the trophy following her third win.
